Étagère
Etegere
Made from Vermont woods, this is an Early American interpretation of an Étagère with arched bonnet and country open shelves. The four shelves are proportionally contoured to gracefully fit in a receeding tiered configuration similar to terraced garden arrangements.
The shelf assembly is supported by a solid 4-inch heavy block of Hemlock, while the top arch lends an old world charm to this most unique kitchen cabinet piece.
The top set of shelves can be detached from the base for easy transportation and shipping.
Overall dimensions:
Height: 7 ft
Width: 3 ft
Deep: 2 feet
Block surface Height: 33 1/4 inches
The style of the curved shelves can be seen below. The arched bonnet:

Étagère Shelves Filled
Here is the Étagère with items on the shelves to give some proportion to the finshed piece in a decorated context.
French Chop Block
This heavy weight chop block is fashioned after those found in the kitchens of old French Château's. The front legs take their shape from the hind quarter of the revered Truffle seeking pigs so prized in the Provence region of Southern France.
These legs are 2 inch thick hemlock as is the apron surrounding the 4 inch thick maple block. The rear legs are 4X4 inch Hemlock.
The heavy black hardware echoes the old time primitive tools found in French kitchens at the turn of the century.
The Block is finished with a water based semi-gloss polyurethane over a mellow honey colored stain.
This is a heavy weight accompaniment to any gourmet kitchen. The unit can be ordered without the top surround assembly at $200 less.

The French Chop Block
Of course we must distinguish between those chop blocks used in French gourmet kitchens and those reserved for Marie Antoinette.
The light colored wood under the front legs are just to protect the leg bottom surface during shipping.
