Louis XIV Computer DeskOften we see contradicting things in our daily lives. So to in furniture. We herewith present "The Louis XIV Computer Desk" A computer desk whose style would make The Sun King smile. Just imagine, if the royal network in the Palace of Versailles was equipped with high speed internet, this would be the desk to house the royal computer. Of course one could not expect the king to subject himself to the indignity of operating the computer himself. Therefore appointed to the royal court, the Marquis de IT would be the real operator.
Featuring an ample pull-out keyboard platform, printer retractable platform, and a movable surface for the monitor. With shelves for books, computer supplies, speakers and sundries, the bottom desk accomodates a full tower and woofer for a computer sound system. In addition to these great features the visual impression is classic old world. With Pilasters, Corbels, Acanthus Leaf mouldings and traditional Rinceau Scrolled panel, this is a awesome addition to anyone's library or office. The design can be customized for individual requirements including internal configuration. Rear wiring access ports in the lower desk and top library facilitate a variety of computer setups. Outfitted with ball bearing full extension slides, the keyboard work surface has ample area for keyboard, mouse and writing. When not in use the keyboard platform is hidden behind the Rinceau scrolled panel that is closed with European style cabinet hinges. The base partition has cutouts to allow wiring from the printer and speaker/woofer compartment to connect to the Tower compartment for ease of access and installation. The retractable platform for the printer is 16" wide and 20 1/2" deep that accomodates most printers and all-in-one units (printer, copier, scanner). The main tower compartment has adequate room to also house a large 8-outlet EMI Line filter to ensure electrical protection to all system components. Auxillary shelves adjacent to printer platform and main tower compartment provide extra storage for computing saundry items such as CDs, DVDs, Ink, paper, documentation, and other office supplies. The top bookcase/shelving assembly sits on the base unit such that wiring for the monitor, speakers, webcam, and microphone, is routed through a rear cabling access port , down to the base unit cabling access port and into the tower rear connectors and power outlet strip. As designed, the the top bookcase has a cutout to accomodate a 23- inch monitor having a horizontal dimension of 24 1/2 inches. This provides the remaining shelf length to accomodate a 11 1/2 inch shelf on each side of the monitor. These shelves, at the right height and either side of the monitor, are the perfect location for your computer speakers. Of course the monitor cutout can be modified for other monitors as required. An optional feature for the top assembly is strip LED lighting that illuminates the interior shelving area for comfortable book title viewing and access. This is a long lead item and we welcome inquiries about this magnificent piece.
